Teaching English in Beijing/Tianjin

Beijing, the capital of China, was founded hundreds of years ago. Now it is a city of contrasts, ancient palaces and modern sky-rises, leafy old streets and modern shopping malls. As the build-up to the Olympics progresses, inhabitants say they can feel the energy crackling in the air. Come and witness the greatest event of 2008 first-hand!

Tianjin, Beijing's old port city, is a great contrast. While less well-known than it's older, bigger neighbour, many inhabitants claim that the pace of life and the friendliness of the people more than make up for its lack of fame. While not entirely untouched (Tianjin is taking some of the over-spill from the Olympics), this is a good place to experience a more authentically Chinese way of life.

A former German concession and still a pleasant sea-side city, Qingdao has preserved much of it's colonial architecture and maintained it's beaches as well as developing economically. It has given it's name to the most popular beer in China ("Tsingtao", the old spelling) and every summer plays host to the most famous 2 week beer festival in Asia.
